Projector supported remote maintenance – concept and prototypical realization of a projector supported system in remote maintenance

The thesis was aimed to develop a concept of a remote maintenance system based on the usage of an projector. First the working process of maintenance itself was discussed and as a result the usage of a camera and the projector was considered. The concept should positively in uence the work- ow under all different worker conditions, which gives new possibilities to the workers.

On the basis of the results of this research, a prototype was developed. It provides an shoulder-mounted camera and in addition an arm-mounted projector which can be controlled by external systems. Additional requirements like Computers and Arduinos can be stowed in the self-made backpack.

A program allows the connection between both persons via internet. It provides the control of the camera to move side- and upwards. The xed position will be stabilised by an integrated accelerometer. Also there is the possibility to send helpful media and material to the projector. The remote person can draw sketches and notes into the ma- terial to describe certain circumstances. In- frared sensors attached to the projector are used to calculate the distance to the surface in different angels and furthermore to map the projection.
